How Sin is like Acid

By William D @ http://reformingbaptist.blogspot.com

Back in my biotech days (like two months ago) I handled alot of chemicals in the science labs. The ones I feared the most were the acids. They are clear so they look like water, but they smelled terrible, so at least you had that kind of detection. They are stored in glass bottles, because glass is the only thing that the stuff won't eat through. Even though it doesn't eat through, it still lets off smelly vapors that corrode whatever is containing the bottles. The acid cabinets become rusty in a matter of weeks.

Sin is very much the same way. You might think you can contain it....hide it if you will, but it still smells and corrupts others who are nearby. So, whatever sin you are trying to hide will eventually come out to corrupt your kids, your friends, your spouse, etc.. Your attitude will smell bad...it'll show in your response to preaching, church attendance, involvement in ministry. Don't conceal it, just confess it and forsake it

Proverbs 28:13 He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy.
