I have said it before here and here, along with a few other places. The United Church of Canada, the largest Protestant denomination in Canada, is an apostate church. Not that more evidence is needed, but today a friend sent me this latest brochure from the presses of the UCC. Click the links below to view.
Here are some of the notable statements on the brochure which are taken right off their website under Multi-Faith Relations:
1) “For a good part of the last century, we thought we needed to convert people of different religions throughout the world.” Apparently, that is no longer the case.
2) “We believe the Spirit of God is at work in many different faith communities.” That is to say, anyone with a religious inclination towards anything at all has been given that inclination from God.
3) “For Christians, Jesus is the way we know God. Our understanding is nonetheless limited by human imagination. God is greater still and works in our world by a mysterious Spirit that knows no distinction at the doorway of a Christian chapel, Buddhist, Hindu, or Sikh temple, Aboriginal sweat lodge, Muslim mosque, or Jewish synagogue. It’s the same Spirit working…” As long as you worship with a sincere heart, it matters not what or whom you worship. Jesus Christ is not the necessary mediator between God and man (1 Tim. 2:5). This is a deadly lie.
This ecumenical universalism seems to be a growing trend among churches that formerly professed to believe the Gospel; and it will continue to grow as men increasingly find the name of Jesus Christ embarrassing in this pluralistic culture. There is no other explanation: they are simply ashamed of Jesus and the exclusivity of the Gospel. The word of God is crystal clear on this matter:
John 14:6 Jesus said unto him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”
Acts 4:12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.
John 3:36 He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.
1 John 5:12 He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.
Isaiah 45:21-22 …and there is no God apart from me; a just God and a Saviour; there is none beside me. Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth: for I am God, and there is none else.
Pray that the Lord would be merciful to these apostates, for if He is not, He will deal judicially with them. Pray that He would draw out what few saints may be left in this decaying body and bring them to faithful churches. Pray also that God will keep His people from the bewitching attraction of this universalistic garbage which is an overt denial of Christ Jesus.
