Does It Really Matter? Origins & Criminal Punishment

As you can see, metaphysical questions become practical very quickly. The essential question John brings out is this: What is the non-biblical basis for a universal, transcendent law? If you deny biblical authority, then you deny divine law, which is transcendent and universal (cf. Rom. 2:15, God wrote His law on the heart of every individual).

Does It Really Matter? Origins, the Family, & Morality

When John MacArthur appeared on Larry King Live to address the issue of same-sex marriage, San Francisco Mayor, Gavin Newsom scoffed at the concerns some have over the slippery slope—i.e., if you allow same-sex marriage, why not allow people to marry children or pets?

Obviously, within the evolutionary worldview, there is no way to draw the line on human sexuality and remain consistent.

The Impossibility of Salvation, Part 1

Sooner or later, every Christian meets Him. The perfect seeker. Im talking about a person who doesnt possess eternal life buts wants to. Someone who knows there is a God believes in an afterlife and is seriously searching to fill the hole in his life. Now, from where we stand someone like that doesnt seem like the perfect candidate for the Gospel, but it is the ideal candidate for salvation. Our Lord however, sees things a little differently. Today and for the next two weeks we are going to find out how differently as we open Gods word in Luke 18. There we find the amazing and even shocking account of the rich young ruler. There we will discover together the glorious truth about salvation, and possible to obtain. humanly speaking, that is.

Reasons to Forgive, Part 1

Not only is this matter of forgiveness essential to the cohesiveness of the church, as it is to the family and to marriage, not only is this the path to joy and satisfaction and fulfillment in the family and in the church, that is collectively, but the inability to forgive not only destroys relationship, it destroys the people who dont forgive. It is not only destructive of relationships, it is self-destructive. And Scripture makes it very, very clear that where there is a lack of forgiveness, there will develop bitterness and out of bitterness come hatred and couple with hatred comes anger and the end of hatred and anger and bitterness is the pursuit of vengeance. Retaliation is sought and retaliation is never satisfied and vengeance is never really appeased and consequently people live with the bitterness and it is deeper and deeper as they live with it longer...

The Resurrection of Jesus Christ: The Main Event in Redemptive History

The Resurrection of Christ is the single most important event in history. His death fulfilled the sacrifice for our sins, but His resurrection proved that the was the Son of God, and the He alone had the power over sin and the grave.

For believers, its the basis of our confidence in our future with Him in heaven. It solidifies the promise that the grave is not the end for us.
