Praying Scripturally for the Lost

From http://rtbm.typepad.com

My thanks to Dr. Kevin Peacock, IMB missionary assigned to the Canadian Southern Baptist Seminary in Cochrane, AB, Canada for providing the following taken from today's seminary chapel message by Dr. Shane Spannagel. It addresses an earlier question I posed asking about Bible passages dealing with the practice of praying for lost people. I hope this will serve as an inspiration and motivation for both increased prayer and proclamation of the Good New Message to those who so desperately need to hear.

1. Ask God to open their spiritual eyes (2 Corinthians 4:4).

2. Ask God to set them free from spiritual bondage (2 Timothy 2:25-26).

3. Ask God to give them ears to hear the word of Christ and faith to believe in Him (Romans 10:17).

4. Ask God to draw them to Himself (John 6:44).

5. Ask God to convict them of their sin (John 16:8).

6. Ask God to save them (Acts 16:30-31).

7. Ask God to send a witness in their life (Matthew 9:38).

8. Ask God for ways to connect with them (1 Corinthians 9:22).

9. Ask God for opportunities to witness to them (Colossians 4:3).

10. Ask God for boldness to witness to them (Acts 4:29).
