I about fell over when I read the following words from Mr. Hinn.

"The sad and growing reality is that the Gospel of the cross and Christ crucified is not preached in many of our nation’s churches. The message many are preaching has nothing to do with Jesus Christ or the blood He shed on the cross or repentance for sin or the fear of Almighty God. Many preach a gospel that speaks of self-reliance: how to beautify self, how to build self, how to enrich self and succeed in business. But the world we live in is not interested in these things. Souls are crying out for the true Gospel of Jesus Christ, the Gospel of salvation, the Gospel of deliverance, the Gospel of peace."

But these words are followed by the inevitable sales pitch.

"Will you sow your precious financial seed again this month so that multitudes can hear the Gospel of Jesus Christ? Will you sow your precious financial seed again this month as the world is sinking deeper and deeper into danger and darkness? Will you sow your precious financial seed again this month for the Gospel as the gathering storm of crisis is forming on the international horizon? And remember the promise of God to you from Proverbs 11:24-25 is this: `There is that scattereth, and yet increaseth; and there is that withholdeth more than is meet, but it tendeth to poverty. The liberal soul shall be made fat: and he that watereth shall be watered also himself.'

The Word of God tells us clearly that when we sow precious seed for the Gospel of Jesus Christ, we will experience increase. But if we hold back, it will lead to lack. For only the liberal soul, the soul that gives, will be `fat,' or prosperous, and will be blessed."

So, let me summarize . . .

1). The world is about to end, so please send Benny Hinn (Tofik Benedictus is his real name) money right away so that he can get the gospel out while there's still time.

2). Many preachers don't preach about Christ and the blood. Benny promises that he will preach Christ crucified. But he needs your money to do so.

3). If you send money to Benny and sow "financial seed," then he promises that you will prosper. If not, he reminds you (or is it an implied threat?) that you will suffer lack.

How can this guy keep a straight face? Any comments?
